Maybelline’s Colosal Volum’ Express

After reviewing my favourite makeup palettes and eyeliner here, here and here I thought it was time for another one of my favourite essentials to stand in the spotlight. In the beginning I was a little hesitant about buying it, because it was twice the price of my usual mascaras, but I read quite a few good reviews so I thought I’d give it a try.
I usually don’t spend much on mascaras since my lashes are rather short and none really made much of a difference especially since I’m the kind of person who either goes for dramatic makeup or none at all. I also rarely wear only eyeshadow, so my eyes are always contoured by eyeliner or kohl, anyway what I’m trying to point out is that I basically used mascara only to remove the eyeshadow that would stick to my lashes.

I’m SO glad I bought this one, though! It’s the first time I truly see a significant difference. I don’t regret a penny I spent on it, even though it was more or less an impulse buy. Ok, it doesn’t instantly and magically give you 7x volume as the advertisements promise, but it’s as damn close to magical eyelashes I’ve ever been. Although it comes off really easy with eye makeup remover, it doesn’t smudge (I cried with it on, it didn’t budge).
Another thing that usually bothers me at mascaras is their scent, it’s definitely not my cup of tea. I was incredibly surprised to find out this one doesn’t have that unpleasant scent, but a slightly floral, totally cool one!

Here you can see the bristles. They don’t make my lashes clump together, there goes another white ball!

Above you can see my eye without makeup and below with Maybelline’s mascara on. See the difference?

PROS:

-Doesn’t smudge

-Doesn’t smell

-Gets off easily

-Doesn’t clump the lashes together

-It truly gives volume and some extra length

CONS:

- A little pricy

Over all, it gets five hearts! I will definitely buy it again. Thank you for reading and I hope you found this useful!

Makeup review: Too Faced’s Natural Eye Palette

Hello hello! I’ve just realised it’s been quite a while since my last makeup review. Therefore, here we are: I’m going to review an eyeshadow palette from Too Faced. Unlike a lot of my makeup stuff this wasn’t an impulse buy. A while ago I bought the Romantic eye palette which I reviewed here, because it was the perfect travel palette. This one is the same size, it could literally fit in your pocket. It holds 9 eyeshadows, most of them are golds and browns, which go hand in hand with blue eyes. Like the Romantic palette, I don’t regret buying this one bit. I’ve been using it almost every day for two months and you can barely tell it’s been used.
Another aspect I’m really fond of is the fact that the colours have just the right amount of pigment, therefore they’re subtle when using a thin layer, but if you apply them wet or use two layers they get super intense. Off to the swatches!

From the top down they are: Heaven, Silk Teddy, Nude Beach, Velvet revolver, Push-Up, Honey Pot, Sexpresso, Erotica and Cocoa Puff. My favourites are Nude Beach, Honeypot and Sexpresso. I took several pictures of the swatches, so you could see the colours in different light. They’re applied wet.

Yet another thing I love about Too Faced is the quirky names they give their eyeshadows.

Inside the palette there are also three little cards on which you’ll find makeup tutorials. They’re really useful if you’re not inspired that day.

I have paid for this palette myself and no one has sponsored me in any way to make this review. I am 100% pleased with it, the way I’m usually pleased with Too Faced’s products (this is the third palette I bought), especially their eyeshadows and the eyeshadow primer potion. If you have blue eyes, this palette will fit you like a glove and they still would even if you don’t.

I hope you enjoyed my hairy arms and found this review useful! Thank you for reading, have an amazing day!

My Favourite Lipsticks: Easter Special

As I promised, after posting my make-up collection, here come the reviews. Since a review of a lipstick would be quite short and rather boring, I thought I’d review my favourites all in one post! Also since I’m celebrating Easter tomorrow, this will be an Easter special blog post!

Left to right/Up-Down on the swatch picture: Shiseido Perfect Rouge – Tender Sheer, MAC Viva Glam – Gaga, The Body Shop no 66, YSL Rouge Pur 131 and Lancome L’absolu Rouge 132

Here are the swatches. Below are on the lips~

Shiseido Perfect Rouge – Tender Sheer 10/10

It’s a perfect nudy pink colour, perfect texture and longlasting too. I don’t even need to use a lip balm before applying it because it’s moist enough. Unfortunately I can’t remember the price, but I bet it’s worth all the money since it’s an all time favourite.

MAC Viva Glam – Gaga 9/10

I remember buying this right when I got into make-up, around three years ago. Now my poor rouge is broken because I forgot it in my jeans’ pockets and washed them : ( Anyway, it’s not a full score because I don’t really like it’s texture. If your lips aren’t perfectly smooth before using it, it will look awful. But all in all it’s a really nice shade and I feel bad for breaking it ;~;

The Body Shop no 66 8/10

I love the texture and the colour, but I wish it didn’t sparkle. The package isn’t too attractive either, but it’s the perfect shade of orange that I’ve been looking for everywhere.

YSL Rouge Pur 131 10/10

My very first red lipstick. The colour is amazing but a bit too strong for me so I always just tap my lips a few times and use a chapstick to even it out. The texture is perfect also, really easy to apply and longlasting. It’s almost over though : ( This one was kind of pricey, but it deserves all its’ money too.

Lancome L’absolu Rouge 132 100/10

My favourite of all time! I swear I’ve never seen such a beautiful shade of red anywhere before. You can’t really see it in this picture, it’s better to look at the swatch one. I can’t even find my words to describe how much I adore this shade. A really nice texture too, and it smells delicious : D If you need a red lipstick, I recommend this wholeheartedly.

So, pretty bunnies! Have a beautiful Easter if you’re celebrating it tomorrow, if not, I hope you had a beautiful one! Thank you for reading!

Pulvis sidereus (Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette Review)

This palette has been one of those impulse buys, that sooner or later I regret spending my money on. But not this time. I fell in love with it after the first use.

The Romantic Eye palette contains 9 beautifully pigmented eyeshadows, 4 with sparkles and 5 matte. I played around with it a bit and learned that you can use the bigger ones on the left as blush and highlighters too since they blend out perfectly in the skin. Plus the package is beautiful ♡ It’s also a perfect travel palette since it has both light and dark colours and it isn’t heavy. I had it with me in Rome and I couldn’t have asked for more~ Very good as a beginner palette too, since it’s not expensive (around 20) and it has a wide variety of colours. The thing that literally made my jaw drop is that they don’t crease nor smudge at all. I couldn’t find my eyeshadow primer when I was doing my makeup so I just applied the eyeshadow without any special base. Around 8 hours later when I came back home the makeup was looking as new, my mouth literally gapped when I checked it in the mirror. ~Swatches (and a hairy arm :’D) From left to right: Un-Veil First Dance Ever After Honeymoon Cut the Cake I Do Bouquet Toss Kiss the Bride Soulmates Also, I love it how the names are matching the overall romantic theme of the palette.  My favourites are Soulmates, Cut the Cake and Ever After. And a look done by using Soulmates, Ever After and Unveil :) Overall Rating: ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ (maximum)

I recommend this palette whole-heartedly to anyone :) Thank you for reading!
