Monstrous at LFW

Not Monsters.Inc, but Fam Irvoll, the name of both the brand and it’s creator. She is a Norwegian girl with bright and unique signature items and designs and has worked as an assistant for designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Gareth Plugh.

She maintained her signature style of fun 3D monsters, knitted pieces and created a ~horribly~ cute and feminine monstrous collection.

~The Backstage~

One thing that caught my eye during the fashion show were these amazing creepers! They are a collaboration between Fam Irvoll and Underground for the Autumn / Winter 2012 collection. They’re inspired from Ghost Busters and cartoons and totally cute!

What’s your favourite LFW Collection? I think this is mine!

Twilight

No, not the book. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your taste.

Since spring is finally here, I got off my lazy ass and went out to take some photos. A quite difficult thing for me when doing photoshoots is to find a pretty, but empty place. Why empty? Because I’m really shy when posing. Even when my best friend is taking the photos, it takes me a while before I can act relatively natural. Plus this is a rather un-evolved country so when people pass by, they even stop and stare “Look at her! Omg why is she taking photos?!”, so taking pictures in busy places, even though they’re beautiful, is out of the question, at lest for me.

Coat: Zara

Dress: Liz Lisa

Socks: Zara

Shoes: Liz Lisa

Glasses: Zara

Haha, the way brands alternate, I didn’t do it on purpose, I swear!

Also, I’m sorry for that awkward hairband on my arm, I totally forgot about it!

A lil bit of detail~

That hairband, ugh!

Two of my prided possessions: The ring and the nails.

That ring was my grand-grandmothers and I feel somehow pride and more powerful when I’m wearing it. I holds so much history! And my nails, they make me proud because they’re natural! I’ve been keeping them this long for about a year, but once in a while some break so I have to cut them all : ( Actually, the day after I took these pictures one broke so not they’re kind of short.

Aand the beautiful best friend who took these photos for me! Thank you! <3 I love you~

Thank you for reading! Take care!

Beautiful Japan: A new beginning

As the title predicts, yes! This is the start of a new series! A series in which I will share with you beautiful pictures and memories from my trips to Japan.

In the beginning I wanted to post about my trips day by day, but they are already more than two years old so, unfortunately, I can’t remember the events well enough in order to relate them. So I decided I’ll share my favourite images in no particular order with tiny insights about the places and my time there.

The picture above is taken on the train, on our way to Tokyo (from the airport). There are still many many small cities separated by rice fields which have these beautiful, slightly traditional houses.

Tokyo – on our way to Tokyo Tower.

There are so many architectural wonders in Tokyo, compared to my tiny city. Each building is different and beautiful in its own way.

This is in Ginza if I remember well, close to where our hotel was. It took us so long to find it and it was noon already, I remember whining as we kept walking on narrow streets, dragging my huge suitcase around.

This is in Asakusa, we were visiting the temple when our Japanese friends pointed to the Sky Tree. It will open in a few months and the Sky Tree will be the highest observation point in Japan.

Around Tokyo~

The troublemaker gang!

Special abilities: complaining about the heat, always hungry, pissing the adults off, wanting to do stuff completely different than planned, sneaking out of hotels at night.

What is the furthest place you’ve ever travelled to? Thank you for reading!

Week In A Glimpse II

I find it so strange that a week has passed already! So many happened this week, both good and bad. But since I have always tried to be a positive person, I’ll just ignore the negative events and focus on the nice parts. I spent a lovely week-end with my best friend that brought some serious changes in my life, at least for me. Moving on!

I think it’s safe to assume this week is a lot less crazier than last week. Many browns and grays, less eccentric, more casual, retro if you wish outfits.

This is a cute outfit, but what stands out most are the shoes. Close up below~ What I don’t like is the denim purse. I would’ve chosen something different.

This is one of the craziest outfits in this post and I chose it because of the zipper necklace she has. Ingenious way of using zippers!

Ankle socks are pure love!

Aaaaand, a belly dancer! Just look at those amazing fake flower details.

The odd one of the group, a guy! I should do a WIAG guy edition to give the male side it’s recognition~

Hope you’ll have a nice week ahead! Thank you for reading!

My makeup collection

I guess the content of this post is pretty obvious from the title, huh? : ) I was meaning to do this post for a while, but other post ideas kept creeping up and I kept postponing it, but no more, here it is:

Only as I laid it like this I’ve actually realized how much makeup I have. It’s a wonder it still fits in the little drawers I have. I have sorted them on categories:

Lips: Chapsticks, lipglosses, lipsticks and lip pencils. My favourite are the Chanel lipsticks and the Shiseido lip pencils.

Eyes pt I: Eyeshadows and mascaras.

Eyes pt II: Pencils and Liners and a lash glue.

Cheeks: Blushers and bronzers for contouring

Face: Powders, Primers, Whitening Creams, Foundations, Concealer and Highlighter (from top to bottom)

I didn’t write as much in this post because this is just a presentation of my collection. I want to review most of these products so I thought there was no point in explaining everything now. The point of this post was to present the makeup so I can find out which are you most interested in reading a review of. So? Which one would you like reviewed first? Leave your answers in the comments please!

Thank you for reading and take care! <3

CRAZY HAIRSTYLES AT SPLASH INTERNATIONAL

Held in Tokyo a while ago, Splash international is probably the biggest hair styling show in Asia. This year both japanese and korean artists participated and as special guests appeared two members of the korean pop band T-ara. I’ve been searching around for pictures like mad and I have finally found some on Tokyofashion.com. I’ve been looking forward to this show for what feels like an eternity. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed! Thank you Tokyofashion.com for these amazing photos!

Week In A Glimpse

I have started this series two times before, once on my blogspot and once on tumblr, but both times I quit for reasons I cannot remember any longer. Let’s hope I’ll be able to keep on track this time!

What is WIAG?

A weekly (you don’t say, huh? :’D) post in which I share my favourite street snaps (mostly taken in Tokyo) with my opinion shared here and there.

Why street snaps?

I have always thought that you can see part of a country’s metality in it’s fashion. And where could one find real, vivid fashion full of personality and uniqueness but on the streets?

So~ let’s begin!

One thing you notice straight away is the attention to detail. It’s pretty hard to find someone who doesn’t add a spark of personality to their outfit by an accessory. Or more.

Duffy Duck tights! How cute is that?

Dolly-kei staff from Grimoire. They hair (and outfits, obviously!) is so awesome <3

That giant fluffy sweater looks so comfortable~ I wish I had something like that too. I also like how she combined it with the red muffler.

I think you’ve learned by now, that I’m always saving the best for last, haha :D This is kind of the odd one in the group, all the girls above wearing pastels and fluffy skirts. But that’s exactly what I love at street fashion. It’s just so versatile~

I’ve been noticing those platform converses lately, but they really don’t fit my tastes. Do you like them?

Guys, guys, guys! They’re both so extravagant, I love how they’re not afraid to spice up with accessories. Although they kind of fit the outfit, I don’t like the blonde’s shoes.

Do you like any of the outfits? Do you like street fashion generally?

Pictures off Ridsnap, Tokyo Fashion and Scrapture.

Around Tokyo: Shibuya!

I don’t think there is anyone who hasn’t heard about Shibuya at least in their lives! The famous crossing, the crazy shopping district, the busiest place in the wold~

I guess I am exaggerating a bit, but I can’t help it! I really love Shibuya. Such a lively, beautiful district~

I remember going in Shibuya for breakfast and eating Udon for the first time in my life. Then we walked aimlessly around the idle streets and snapped pictures of interesting buildings.

Another gem that we found: A temple. Hidden between two concrete buildings, old and new, holy and filthy. Filthy is a little bit rough I guess, but hey~

Here you’ve got an unflattering photo of me too, haha :D

Have you ever been to Shibuya? Did you enjoy it? Thank you for reading! Click on the pictures to enlarge them!
