Rome by day, part I

Such beautiful memories overwhelmed me as I browsed through this pictures :) Italian architecture is so beautiful, I shot around 500 pictures only of the buildings and details.

Well, there is not much to explain about this post. Please click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I hope the pictures were as delighting for your eyes as they were for mine :) Stay tuned for part II ! Take care :)

Pulvis sidereus (Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette Review)

This palette has been one of those impulse buys, that sooner or later I regret spending my money on. But not this time. I fell in love with it after the first use.

The Romantic Eye palette contains 9 beautifully pigmented eyeshadows, 4 with sparkles and 5 matte. I played around with it a bit and learned that you can use the bigger ones on the left as blush and highlighters too since they blend out perfectly in the skin. Plus the package is beautiful ♡ It’s also a perfect travel palette since it has both light and dark colours and it isn’t heavy. I had it with me in Rome and I couldn’t have asked for more~ Very good as a beginner palette too, since it’s not expensive (around 20) and it has a wide variety of colours. The thing that literally made my jaw drop is that they don’t crease nor smudge at all. I couldn’t find my eyeshadow primer when I was doing my makeup so I just applied the eyeshadow without any special base. Around 8 hours later when I came back home the makeup was looking as new, my mouth literally gapped when I checked it in the mirror. ~Swatches (and a hairy arm :’D) From left to right: Un-Veil First Dance Ever After Honeymoon Cut the Cake I Do Bouquet Toss Kiss the Bride Soulmates Also, I love it how the names are matching the overall romantic theme of the palette.  My favourites are Soulmates, Cut the Cake and Ever After. And a look done by using Soulmates, Ever After and Unveil :) Overall Rating: ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ ♠ (maximum)

I recommend this palette whole-heartedly to anyone :) Thank you for reading!

Anima Mundi

Rome- not exactly the capital of fashion, but an astonishingly beautiful city nevertheless. Elegant, mysterious, full of myths and legends, the home of probably the most famous and influential civilization to ever live on earth: the Romans.

But history is not our subject today, fashion is. And fashion in Rome starts right from the Fiumicino airport, where the walls are filled with eye catching, classy banners. Fendi (above) was my favourite.

Piazza di Spagna is a second heaven to any avid shopper. From high fashion to accessible brands, restaurants, small boutiques, you can find literally everything there. A feast to the eyes too, I was paying more attention to the amazing architecture more than the shops sometimes, to be honest.

One of my biggest regrets from the Rome trip (as some of you may know) is that my CF card broke so I lost the pictures from the first three days. One of those days had been dedicated solely to shopping, therefore I had snuck some pictures inside these shops too. Unfortunately,we didn’t have time in our last evening to get inside all the shops again, but we went to Spagna again so I could at least snap pictures of my favourite displays :(

What I liked a lot about these shopping streets was the way everything blended in. There was no contrast between old and new (the buildings and the shops) the way it is in my country and no shops had loud, neon signs to desperately scream for attention. It was all so…classy.

Less expensive, but just as amazing <3 5 story Zara. One of the only shops I shopped from. I know I should try and vary a bit more, but I really wasn’t in a shopping mood those days so I went in straight where I knew I’d find what I needed.

What I Bought

Bag from Guess, fake fur muffler (?) from H&M

Before I Decay Brightening primed and Make up Forever HD foundation (that I’ll review soon because it’s a godsend)

Suit coats, both from Zara. I had my eyes on the grey one since November but it was way overpriced for a suit coat so I patiently waited for the sales. The black one is made from a really soft and comfy material, that’s why it looks so weird in the photo. I love it.

Shirts from Zara. I’m in love with the black one, it has foxes on it :3

I think this is my absolute favourite item. I can’t wait for summer to come. It’s a way more intense blue irl (it’s from Zara too)

This skirt is actually a deep purple, but because of the bad lighting it came out like this :( Another item I wanted since last year.

Pants because I needed a pair :(

And my most beloved accessories, thigh high socks (if they can be considered that)

This palette is amazing, quality wise. I don’t know what kind of black magic Too Faced have done, but these eyeshadows don’t smudge nor crease at all, without using any base/primer. Deeply impressed.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed!

Aeterna lux solis

Hello, hello! As I promised, an outfit post. Unfortunately, these are the only outfit pictures that I have in Rome (good thing it’s my favourite outfit, too~) since the camera’s memory card broke. I wore this on the day we visited the Vatican and to be honest it was a terrible day. Not because of the weather, nor because of the queues; the weather was amazing, most of the time I was able to stay only in this suit jacket, I didn’t even need a coat. And the queues went surprisingly fast.

I’m terrified of heights and small places, but my mom forced me to climb with her in the cupola to see the panoramic view of Rome. Mind you, at the beginning the stairs were a medium width, but they kept getting smaller and smaller, at one point I got dizzy and couldn’t breathe properly. When I thought everything was over we took a turn and I saw the smallest and steepest staircase I’ve ever seen (and hope to be the last one, too). I started to cry and panicked, the only thing that made me keep climbing them was that there were people behind me and I had no other choice. It was horrible! I fell down stairs so many times I lost the count actually (when I came back from Japan I fell on the airplane’s stairs and hit my face on the pavement), therefore going down the stairs was even more terrifying. My fingertips were sore from how hard I pressed in the rail and I had a bruise on my elbow from leaning too hard into the wall.

To make everything better, it wasn’t even worth it. The cupola was way too high so the panoramas came out like shit… Then I had this uneasy feeling all day long.

What I’m wearing:

Fur (fake): H&M

Shirt: Zara

Jacket: Zara

Pants: H&M

Flats: Zara

Not too much variety on that day~ I had a purse from Guess but we took this pictures on the veranda of the hotel after breakfast and I didn’t take it with me~

Me and my beautiful mother :)

And bloopers, haha :D I can’t do a mini-photoshoot without fooling around~

As always, please click on the pictures to make them bigger :) Also, any opinion on to how to improve my posing or outfits is more than welcomed. Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

Rome: A Beginning

Even if I got back on sunday, this week has been hectic, therefore I had no time to write about my trip to Rome. As some of you know, I transferred to another school. I’m having quite a hard time, to be honest, new classmates, new teachers, subjects, it’s a lot to get used to. But that’s not what I should write about now, I’m sorry.

I spent five wonderful days with my amazing mother in Rome last week. We had the luck to have amazing weather and it wasn’t too crowded since it’s extra-season, if you know what I mean :)

But like every good thing, there’s a bad side to it too. My CF card broke on the third day, so I lost around 300 photos. I was devastated, but we managed to find a new one and took almost all pictures again, except for the ones with the Colosseum (inside and outside) and the ones taken at the St Paolo Church, which was my favourite from all churches we entered. And of course, the pictures of my outfits from the first days. Unfortunate.

The second unfortunate happening was on the metro. It was really crowded so I asked my mom to take the next one (I’m terrified by masses of people) but she stubbornly said no and got in. I almost got mugged, thank god I had my phone in my skirt’s pocket, not my jacket’s, because a man shoved his hand in my pocket and ran at the next stop…

It would be an awfully long post if I wrote everything at once, so I decided to break it into several posts:

Rome by day

Rome by night

High fashion street in Rome+my own shopping

One outfit post

This is what I thought about, but who knows, maybe I’ll change a few aspects (I hate following plans)

And lastly, a picture of me and my beautiful mother :) I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction and are looking forward for my next posts! Take Care <3

Mind The Gap Between The Years

A very, very late new year’s eve story. I spent the gap between the years with my (now ex) classmates, therefore it was a pretty quiet party. Well, except for the wild dancing, pillow fights and alcohol sneaking.

What my hair and makeup looked like before the madness started :)

Also while looking at this picture I realize how much my hair has grown. I wish I could dye it now, but I need to wait until the summer :(

We had delicious cupcakes and we put makeup on people. Normally I’d be the first to offer to do the makeup, but this time I preferred to be the photographer instead.

Before/while dancing. We had good music, but unfortunately I sprained a muscle in my thigh and it hurt terribly so I couldn’t dance much. It still hurt a few days after, even when I walked, I thought I broke something.

No party is a real party without a pillow fight! Especially if the majority of the party animals are girls~

The only boy in the group had to suffer more, obviously, so we kind of, killed him, haha~

Camwhoring with the food, then while dancing, I’m awful :( The bottom photo is my favourite from the whole night though~

And one of the first pictures of the year.

Little stars, to brighten our dreams and hopes for the new year :)

How did you spend your new year’s eve? Did you enjoy it? How has your year been? I’m off to pack for Rome <3 Take care of you, lovely readers!
